How Long Has Kraft Owned The Patriots

So, you're curious about how long Kraft has owned the Patriots, huh? Let's dive in, friend! Grab a snack, 'cause we're about to serve up some fun facts and quirky details.

Let's Rewind to 1994

Picture this: it's 1994, the internet is still a baby, and Bill Clinton is just settling into the White House. Meanwhile, in the world of sports, a certain team is about to get a new owner. That's right, the Patriots were up for grabs, and in stepped Robert Kraft.

Enter Robert Kraft

Now, Robert wasn't always a football tycoon. He started out as a packaging manufacturer, but he had a dream. A dream to own an NFL team. So, he put in a bid, and voila! He became the new owner of the Patriots.

But here's where it gets interesting. You know how some people buy a team and it's all sunshine and roses? Well, not so much for Robert. He had to fork over a cool $172 million. That's right, folks, he paid more for the Patriots than the White House did for the entire state of Louisiana back in the 1800s!

From Zero to Hero

Now, you'd think that with that kind of investment, the Patriots would be Super Bowl champions right off the bat. But no, that's not how the story goes. In fact, the Patriots' first season under Kraft was, well, rough. They ended the season with a measly 2 wins and 14 losses. Ouch!

But Robert wasn't one to throw in the towel. He rolled up his sleeves, hired some new coaches, and started building a team. And boy, did it pay off. In 2001, just seven years after he bought the team, the Patriots won their first Super Bowl. Talk about a comeback!

But here's where it gets even more interesting. Kraft isn't just about winning. He's also about giving back. He's donated millions to various charities, including those that support education, healthcare, and community development. Now that's what we call a true sports hero!

So, How Long Has Kraft Owned the Patriots?
