Alright, picture this: You're scrolling through Netflix, looking for something to watch that'll make you laugh until milk comes out of your nose. You stumble upon a comedy special, and who's the comedian? Matt Besser. You think to yourself, "Who's that guy?" Well, let me tell you, Matt Besser is like that one friend who's always got a hilarious story to share, but you didn't realize he was a comedian until he started doing stand-up at your birthday party.

Now, you might be thinking, "I've seen that guy before, but where?" Well, buckle up, because we're about to take a trip down memory lane, and it's gonna be a wild ride filled with laughter, awkward moments, and a whole lot of '90s nostalgia.

From Upright Citizens Brigade to Your TV Screen

You know how you've got that one friend who's always in the know about the latest trends and coolest places to hang out? Matt Besser is kind of like that, but for comedy. He co-founded the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) with Amy Poehler, Ian Roberts, and Matt Walsh back in the '90s. If you're a comedy nerd, you've probably heard of it, and if you're not, well, you're about to become one.

UCB is like the cool kid's table in the high school cafeteria of comedy. Everyone wants to sit there, but only the funniest and most talented comedians get an invite. And guess who's been sitting at that table since day one? Matt Besser, that's who.

Wrecking Crew: Besser's Comedy Resume

Now, let's talk about Matt Besser's movie and TV show resume. It's like a who's who of comedy, and it's about to make you feel like you've been living under a rock if you didn't know he was in all these shows.

Wet Hot American Summer: Remember that hilarious summer camp comedy from 2001? Yep, that's Matt Besser as the lovable, yet slightly creepy, counselor, J.J. He's the guy who's always trying to impress the girls and ends up getting into some pretty ridiculous situations. Sound familiar? It's because he's been doing that in real life for years.

Curb Your Enthusiasm: If you've ever seen an episode of this HBO gem, you know that Larry David is the king of awkward situations. Well, Matt Besser has been lucky (or unlucky, depending on how you look at it) enough to be on the receiving end of some of Larry's most cringe-worthy moments. He plays a variety of characters, from a fellow comedian to a guy who's just trying to enjoy a nice dinner at a restaurant. Spoiler alert: it never goes as planned.

He pops up in various sketches, playing characters that are equal parts ridiculous and hilarious. It's like watching a comedy magic show, and Matt Besser is the magician pulling rabbits out of hats (or laughs out of thin air).
