Nfl Teams From Oldest To Newest

Alright, football fans and history buffs, buckle up! We're about to take a whirlwind tour through the NFL, from the league's earliest days to the newest kids on the block. So, grab your jerseys, let's dive in!

Kicking it old school: The founding fathers

Let's start at the very beginning, a very good place to start, as Julie Andrews would sing. The Green Bay Packers, founded in 1919, are the oldest team still in the NFL. Can you believe they've been around for over a century? That's like being a great-grandparent in football years!

Next up, we've got the Chicago Bears (1920), the Arizona Cardinals (1920), the Detroit Lions (1929), and the Philadelphia Eagles (1933). These guys have seen it all, from leather helmets to the Super Bowl era. Talk about a front-row seat to history!

War years and expansion: The 1940s and beyond

World War II put a dent in the NFL's plans, but after the war, things really started to heat up. The Cleveland Browns (1946) and the Baltimore/Indianapolis/San Diego Chargers (1960) joined the party. And let's not forget the Dallas Cowboys (1960), who brought that Texas swagger to the league.

The 1960s and 1970s saw even more expansion. The Miami Dolphins (1966), the New Orleans Saints (1967), the Cincinnati Bengals (1968), and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1976) all joined the fray. And who could forget the Seattle Seahawks (1976) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1976)? Okay, maybe you could, but that's why we're here!

Super Bowl Sundays and new kids on the block

The 1990s and 2000s brought us the Carolina Panthers (1995), the Jacksonville Jaguars (1995), the Baltimore Ravens (1996), the Tennessee Titans (1999), and the Houston Texans (2002). And let's not forget the most recent addition, the Las Vegas Raiders (2020). Talk about a high-stakes move!
